Put on your stretchy pants because the First Annual Great Slider Showdown is coming up on Saturday, June 30! From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., you and your pals will be able to munch on some of the best sliders on the planet at none other than The Factory in Franklin, TN.
Ten talented chefs from around the South will be competing for the Goldens’ Slider Prize. With the champion being determined by the guest judges, the winning chef will take home the gold – the $3,000 cash prize! They’ll also get a brand new Golden’s Cast Iron Cooker and an automatic spot in the 2018 World Chef Challenge.
Featured Chefs at the Great Slider Showdown
Along with other admired chefs from around the South, there will be four from Tennessee. These chefs include Alex Belew from Dallas & Jane in Murfreesboro, TN; Jason Greer from SideTrack in Chattanooga, TN; B.J. Lofback from Funk Seoul Brother in Franklin, TN; and Warren Weiss from Knox Mason in Knoxville, TN. Coming from some of the most well-known restaurants around Tennessee, you know these talented chefs will be bringing their A-game, so get ready to be blown away by their tasty slider creations!
Guest Judges at the Showdown in Franklin, TN
One of the guest judges will be the one and only Alton Brown who you probably know as the host of Good Eats, which was on Food Network for fourteen years. He’s also the commentator on Iron Chef America and has written 8 books on food and cooking. Maneet Chauhan is another a guest judge. She’s a James Beard Award-winner, and you may have also seen her on Food Network’s Chopped. The third guest judge is Robby Melvin, who’s the Test Kitchen Director at Southern Living Magazine. Finally, Tricia Sereno has led the most award-winning distillery in America for the last ten years while working with some of the top chefs in the country to help them create the perfect cocktails.
