Spend A Fall Day At Cedars Of Lebanon State Park

Lebanon State Park

There’s nothing like enjoying autumn in Tennessee’s great outdoors. The natural beauty and splendor of our state invites you to spend a day soaking up the fall color and strolling along meandering trails amid a canopy of vibrantly hued leaves. Pack up the family and a picnic and head out to do just this at the lush and lovely 1,139-acre Cedars of Lebanon State Park.

Celebrate Fall Surrounded by Tennessee’s Natural Beauty

Named for the Eastern red cedar trees that grow here, the park itself is part of Cedars of Lebanon State Forest. Beyond the striking trees and other flora that thrives here – including 19 species of rare and endangered plants – the park features natural rock gardens called limestone glades.

If you’re in the mood for a hike, you’re in the right place. Eight miles of well-maintained trails wind through the cedar forest and glades, making for an especially picturesque stroll and offering the occasional glimpse of wildlife including deer, rabbits, turkeys, foxes, and squirrels.

Picnic tables equipped with grills as well as 11 picnic shelters (three of which can be reserved for a fee) give you the perfect place to refuel and refresh.

Birdwatchers flock to Cedars of Lebanon in the hopes of viewing some of the more than 121 species that have been recorded here. These include indigo bunting, prairie warbler, yellow-breasted chat, barred and eastern screech owl, tanagers, and many more.

For those who want to enjoy an extended adventure at Cedars of Lebanon State Park, camping is a popular option. There are 117 campsites equipped with picnic tables, grills, and electric and water hookups. Additionally, 30 tent and pop-up campsites are available. A modern lodge is open year-round for large groups and can sleep up to 80.
