Iroquois Steeplechase

Iroquois Steeplechase

There’s just something in the air whenever you go to a horseracing event. The pageantry, the energy… you just have to be there. That’s exactly why you’re not going to want to miss the 78th Iroquois Steeplechase. It’s going to be taking place at Percy Warner Park in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday, May 11, which means that you’ll want to consider buying your tickets as soon as possible – they’re on sale now. The gates will open at 8 a.m., but the first race doesn’t take place until 1 p.m. Learn more about this event and what you can expect when you attend.

Tickets

You can choose from many ticket options for this event, so there really is something for everyone. General admission tickets are $75, but you may want to include some add-ons, as well. Parking is $50 or $75, depending on whether you want a general parking pass or a premium parking pass. Want to be able to go into the Fox Den Party Tent, which includes beer, wine, and food? Then you’ll pay an extra $75 in addition to the price of your ticket. If you want a private tent or other perks, you can pay extra for that, as well. This event only comes around once a year, so you may want to splurge a bit.

Tailgating

Sure, seeing the horses race is the most exciting part of this whole event. But you’ll have plenty of time to mix and mingle while you’re tailgating, which might even be more fun. Be sure to bring some food and drinks along, so you can enjoy the day to its fullest. Tailgating begins at 8 a.m., so you can start the party bright and early.

The Races

The races will begin at 1 p.m., which means you have plenty of time to get there in the morning. There will be seven different races, with 40 minutes in between each race.

What to Wear

Wondering what to wear to this event? If you want to stick with tradition, wear something colorful! Women are encouraged to wear big hats and spring pantsuits, dresses, or skirts. Men will look great in suits, bowties, and braces.

Kids Activities

And don’t forget about the little ones! There will be attractions for them, as well. Head over to the family area for some fun and games, or have them participate in the Michael Stanley Stick Horse Race. Kids 12 years of age and under get in for free, so make sure to bring them along.

The horses at the steeplechase may be speedy, but they can’t even come close to the power you’ll get when you pick out a new car, truck, or SUV from Wilson County Hyundai in Lebanon, Tennessee. Let us help you select your next set of wheels when you come to see us today.
