Make These Springtime Crafts With Your Kids!

Crafting with the family

What’s your favorite way to spend time with your kids? Maybe it’s trying new family-friendly recipes, maybe it’s playing tag outside, or maybe it’s curling up on the couch and watching a funny movie. If you want to switch up your normal activities, though, a fun thing to do would be to host a craft day. This is a fun way to pass time, get out some energy, and also get those creative juices flowing for everyone. After all, it’s been proven that the benefits of creating art go far beyond the piece itself. Give these ideas a try and see what you end up making!

Toilet Paper Roll Creatures

Recycle those old toilet paper rolls and turn them into adorable cartoon creatures!

All you need to make both the frog and the bumble bee are:

  • Paper tube
  • Green paper (frog)
  • Yellow, light blue, and black paper (Bee)
  • Wiggle eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black marker

For the frog, wrap the toiler paper roll in green paper, and glue it on. Then cut out two pairs of legs and two eyes. Glue it all on, and then stick on the wiggle eyes to the cut outs you made. Use a marker to draw a nose and mouth, and there’s your fun little frog to play with!

To make the bee, start a similar way as the frog; cut a strip of yellow paper and glue it onto the toilet paper roll. Next, cut strips of black paper and glue those on as well, creating stripes. Stick on the wiggle eyes and draw a mouth, then cut wings and an antennae, and glue to finish your bee.

Brighter Days Ahead!

To celebrate the beginning of a wonderful season, make it sentimental by creating a beautiful rainbow to symbolize the brighter days ahead. This one is easy to make, and requires white paper, construction paper, cotton balls, scissors, glue, and duct tape.

Cut the paper into strips, and cut two clouds from the white paper. Glue the strips on both ends to the clouds, and then fluff it up with the cotton balls. Place a few cotton balls on the inside of the rainbow too, to ensure the arch. This is a fun and happy craft to brighten everyone’s day.
