About Cedars of Lebanon

Surrounded by the Cedars of Lebanon State Forest, the park is named after the red cedars found in the area. The name Cedars of Lebanon comes from the American settlers who saw the trees and were reminded of the Biblical cedar forests of Mount Lebanon. In the 1940s, botanists noticed many unique ecosystems found throughout the Cedars of Lebanon that are home to nineteen rare and endangered plant species. The Cedars of Lebanon became a state park in 1955.

Today, the Cedars of Lebanon State Park has 117 campsites across its 1,139-acre park that have picnic tables, grills, and electrical and gas hookups. Plus, the park has eight miles of hiking trails with multiple picnic spots available throughout, all with tables and grills.
